Time to Begin

We are currently 24 hours away from the start of The Writer's March.

Here are some things to keep in mind to make a good start to this challenge.

  • Don't get overwhelmed with the idea of posting every day.  If you need to move back what you're aiming for, it's okay - the idea is to stir up your creative juices and to get writers to write more consistently.
  • Don't worry about posting material that isn't fully fleshed out.  This is an exercise in consistency, not poignancy.  Get ideas out there and see what happens.
  • Look at other people's content.  Please comment with constructive feedback for other authors.  If you have a blog, you know how excited you are when someone comments on your posts - do that for others.
  • Remember, everyone is practicing.  I know very few published authors, so we're all probably recreation writers.  And if there's one thing to remember about recreation, it's that it is meant to be enjoyed.  This brings me to my next point:
  • Have fun.  If you're not enjoying yourself, why are you doing this?  Writers write because it gives them air, and air is super enjoyable to me.
  • Feel free to link your posts to other content, like your personal blog.  Why not let this be a platform that gets you more consistent readers, and perhaps gets your interest in reading other people's blogs, rather than just your own?
Basically, this will be whatever you make it - so make it something great and you will receive great things.
