Welcome!

This is the second year doing this, so hopefully we've worked out some of the kinks from last year.  For those of you who participated or signed up from last year, don't worry, all your posts are still on the site - they have just been labeled as "Post from 2013" and you still have your same permissions.  New writers, browse through last year's posts to get a feel for what happened last year.

Here's what this year will look like - there are really just three goals:

1) Find a track that fits your schedule/goals and do your best to stick to it.
2) Read what other people have written and give them feedback - you like feedback on your writing, so give that to others when you have the chance.
3) Have a blast doing it!

One thing we found out from last year - you have to have a gmail/google account to be listed as an author on the blog.  If you don't have one, they're really easy to get.  Just click on this link to start an account.

All styles of writing are welcome, so whether you want to try writing fiction, non-fiction, poetry, essays, free verse, or stream of consciousness, feel free to!  I would encourage everyone to try something you wouldn't normally try, just for the experience.  There are no limitations on how short or how long the posts should be, so don't be afraid to publish a "half-baked" piece just to crowd source for some help.

Everyone works at different paces, so look below for a track that works best for you - there is no system to keep you accountable to what you've decided.  This is between you and your keyboard, but they say that writers write, so try your hand at consistency if you enjoy writing as a past time.

TRACKS:
Beginner - 1 post a week.  This will obviously only be 4 posts for the month of march, but it's a good place to start if you're unsure about how busy you will be.

Intermediate - 2 posts a week.  Okay, now we're stepping it up a bit.  Don't hit the weekend without two published pieces on here.

Advanced - 1 post every other day.  Try to allow the day off so you can think about what you might write the next day.

Seasoned Writer - 1 post every day, all month.  31 posts in total, each one is original content produced that day.  This is hard for anyone, so don't get discouraged if you can't do it.

Insanity - 31+ posts for the month of March.  For the truly brave among us.  To win the high distinction of this award, do not skip any days.

There are some pages with helpful writing tips on the Pages menu, if you want some inspiration.

Good luck :)

The Writer's March
